WELFARE OF THE SCHEDULED TRIBE

 

ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REPORT OF RESIDENTIAL PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR ST CHILDREN AT LEKHANAPUR DISTRICT NAYAGARN FOR THE YEAR 2007-08

INTRODUCTION

BHAIRABI CLUB a leading Non-Government State level organization working for the welfare of Schedule Caste in the State of Orissa since 1977. To achieve the goal Universalisation of primary education and to provide free and compulsory education of satisfactory quality to all children up to 14 years it has been established a Residential Primary School for Scheduled Tribe at Lekhanpur of Nayagarh District since 1998. The revised programme of National policy on education 1986 has also endeavour to provide education to all children before 21st century. It is implies that there will be no disparity in providing educational facility for scheduled tribe who has denied equality in the past. It is seems that the retention of ST children is very high in primary school in comparison to other.

ORGANISATIONAL SET UP 

A Residential Primary School for Scheduled Tribe established on 1st August 1998 at Lekhanpur, Po-Sarangadharpur, Dist-Nayagarh on to better educational need (6-14) Scheduled Tribe children. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs was kind enough to sanction the project in favour of this organisation. It is a residential co-education primary school functioning w.e.f. 1st August 1998. The intake capacity of the school is 100 ST children. The school is providing free boarding, fooding, oil and shop, medical services, school uniform, Play materials and requisite furniture, learning materials, books and stationeries to all the students. Requisite staff i.e. trained teacher, physical education, a part time doctor and non-teaching staffs have been appointed for the purpose.

BUILDING 

Two specious building have been occupied on RENT both for the purpose of school and hostel and full fill the norms specified by the Ministry. This building remains under occupation of the management. A specious playground is also available in this campus.

ENROLLMENT

During the year under report 28 students 14 boys and 14 girls were admitted. Last session 15 students at Class-V have taken S.L.C for their higher study (11 boys & 04 girls). During the year 2007-08, 7 (Seven) students have taken T.C. (04 Boys + 03 Girls)

FURNITURE & FIXTURES 

The school has already provided the necessary furniture and fixture for each Classroom, office and hostel both for students and staffs. The equipments like Table, Chair, High Desk, Bench, Almirach, Cut, Bed, Bedding, Fan, Cooking, Utensil, Play Materials, Dari have been supplied to the hostel and school. 

TEACHING LEARNING MATERIALS

The teaching learning materials like Books, Ball Pen, Pencil, Eraser, Khata, Slate, Duster, Chalk, Pointer, B.B. Cloth, Chart Globe, Map etc has been provided to the school and students.

EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION

 Educational excursion is part and parcel of any education system. This year our student visited the picnic spot Konark & Puri  on 02.02.2008.

MEDICAL SERVICES

A part time doctor has been appointed for free medical check-up and referral services of the students. The doctor is visited the school twice in a week.

UNIFORM

During the year under report 3 pairs of school uniform Sky colour Shirt and Blue colour pants, Tie and Monogram were being supplied to each students of the school. The management of the organization has supplied of School Bag and Canvas Shoes & Identity Cards to each students during the session.

ANNUAL SPORTS & CULTURAL MEETS

During this session the annual sports and cultural meet was organised on 24.3.2008. The annual sports meet was organised among the students of the school. The event such on running   100 mtrs., 200 mtrs., Long Jump, High Jump, Skipping, Music Chair were done. In the evening a cultural show programme were organized.

OBSERVATION OF IMPORTANT DAYS

The important days such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Ganesh Puja, Saraswati Puja, Teachers Day, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti & Thakar Baba Jayanti on 29.11.2007 & Sahid Raghu Dibakar Jayanti have been observed in the school.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

For the recreational activities of the students. The game and sports equipment like Football, Ring Ball, Skipping, Cricket Bat, Cricket Ball, Ludoo, Carrom Board etc. has been supplied to the school. A physical education teacher has appointed for the physical development of the students. The indoor and outdoor game along with yoga and physical exercise was done for the increase of contradiction power and mental balance.

REVIEW ON EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SCHEDULED TRIBE 

During the year under report Sri G.C. Samal & A.K. Sethi, Asst. Audit Officer, Accountant & General (Civil Audit), Orissa, Bhubaneswar Audited the accounts for the period from 2001-02 to 2005-06 and review the educational development of Scheduled Tribe children.

CONCLUSION

The school is recognized by District Inspector of Schools of Nayagarh in this educational year 2007-08. Therefore I would request the Ministry should be attempt to the higher education of ST students of this MADA Block of Nayagarh District for Higher Education should be attached with in this Institution.
