ANNUAL REPORT OF SHORT STAY HOME FOR WOMEN & GIRLS - 2007-08

INTRODUCTION :-

It is an ongoing programme and has been funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Women & Child Development and Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi, Women & Girls of our society are often victimized and tortured without any cause. Once they stigmatized no one can given them shelter or security most victimized cases arise talking in to consideration of these entire factor Bhairabi Club, was established a Short Stay Home for women and girls since 2007-08 at Konark Nagar, Pallahat, Khurda.

ENROLLMENT

During the year under report 29 women and girls & 8 dependant children were admitted in the home and 34 women / girls were rehabilitated / readjusted and restored in their family. Each and every the case of state women commission, case of district court and local police station and were additionally admitted in the home.

SERVICES OFFERED:

The home provides multiple services i.e. individual counseling, group counseling, home visit, vocational training. Economic rehabilitation, legal aid counseling to the inmate in free of cost. For this purpose the home is keeping networking with the public and private sector and NGOs.

In addition to above boarding & loading, medical, referral services & recreation & outing facilities are provided free of cost.

COUSELLING SERVICES :-

In the Short Stay Home the Group Counseling & Individual Counseling were regularly provided to the inmates. For the Restoration & Rehabilitation of inmates the Family Counseling services were given to the family of the inmates. The follow services were done to know the up date information about the rehabilitated inmates.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING :-

For the rehabilitation of the inmates the home provides the vocational training in the trade of Tailoring, Candel Making, Agarabati & linkage with SUSHRUSHA, Bhubaneswar the home nursing training were provided.

RECREATIONAL SERVICES :-

For the entertainment & recreation of the inmates of the Home a Television set and Indoor game equipments were provided. In addition to the above the home observe Independence Day, Saraswati Puja, Raja, Holly, Rakhaya Bandhan, Dashahara, Rashapurnnima and Women’s Day in the home.

OBSERVATION OF WOMEN’S DAY :-

The inmates of the home participated in the women’s day function organised by Department of Women & Child Development.

FORMATION OF HOME COMMITTEE :-

For smooth management of Day to day activities of the home a home committee was constituted. There are 6 members represent in the committee. The committee seat once in a month.

NETWORKING & ADVOCACY :-

This institution keep linkage with Department of Women & Child Development, SWADHIKAR FORUM, Swadhar Shelter, Short Stay Home, District Administration, District Social Welfare Section, Mahila Commission, Judicial Court, Police Station, Training Centre, PRI Institution, NGOs and other Private & Public Institution for sensitization, rehabilitation and technical guidance.

Lastly we indebt our heartiest thanks to Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi and Deptt. of Women & Child Development, State Social Welfare Board, Bhubaneswar, District Collector, District Superintendent of Police, DSWO, Police Station, Session Court, Mahila Commission, MVSN, Swadhikar Forum for their financial assistance and technical guidance etc.
